Forest Dance

On our ranch property there is an area where all of the cows rest everyday in the summer to get a reprieve from the sweltering heat. It’s a very large canopy of trees low to the ground and it feels 10 degrees cooler when you walk under it. It’s their sacred space and I try to be respectful anytime I encroach upon it. This painting was inspired by that place.  It has a glowing appearance in person and the subtle shifts in color through the layers of trees and space dominate.
