John Muir Trail, circa 98'
Title - John Muir Trail, circa 98'
Medium - acrylic and gouache on clayboard
Size - 11 x 14 inches
A depiction of Yosemite National Park while hiking the John Muir Trail. Figures are etched loosely into the painting. My dad took the picture that inspired this painting with his film camera back in 1998. It's become an act of "memory mapping" for me. Tracing back to vacations past and painting photos from those trips - some moments forgotten, some recalled.
Drawing from personal experiences and collective memories, I aim to evoke a sense of nostalgia and contemplation in my artwork. Through layers of transparent watercolor, opaque acrylic/gouache, and subtle scratching applied to the clayboard, I seek to transport viewers to a dreamscape where the boundaries between memory and reality blur.
Comes in a natural white washed wood frame ready to hang or as tabletop display. Signed in bottom corner.
