The original paintings for this series were created with handmade pigments my daughter and I ground up from rocks.  We used a traditional method of egg tempura painting to create these, and you can see the wonderful texture that resulted throughout the piece.  The imagery was inspired by the ancient primitive cave paintings in France dating back 15,000 years ago.
