Jackrabbits have become a familiar sight around our home in the Texas Hill Country. I often spot their oversized ears first, rising above the grasses before the rest of them comes into view. This original watercolor captures that wonderfully alert posture—ears up, still for just a moment before darting off again.

Painted with loose, expressive washes and delicate detail, this piece is part of an ongoing series inspired by the wildlife that surrounds our home in Wimberley.
