This painting was inspired by a photograph taken by my father on film in 1998 while our family was traveling through the Pacific Northwest. The image features Benson Bridge at Multnomah Falls, an iconic Oregon landmark that left a lasting impression on us during the trip.
Rooted in personal experience and shared memory, my work is intended to evoke quiet nostalgia and reflection. Through layered washes of transparent watercolor, passages of opaque acrylic and gouache, and subtle marks scratched into clayboard, the paintings invite viewers into a dreamlike space where memory and reality gently overlap.
