Title - Golden Hour
Medium - acrylic and gouache on clayboard
Size - 11 x 14 inches
This painting draws from a film photograph my father took in 1998 during a family trip through the Pacific Northwest. The forest felt endless—layers of trees folding into one another, depth dissolving into shadow and light. I remember standing still, captivated by the quiet repetition of trunks and branches, as if the landscape stretched far beyond what could be seen. Repainting it now becomes a way of lingering in that moment, where distance, atmosphere, and memory merge into something both vast and intimate.
Rooted in personal experience and shared memory, my work is intended to evoke quiet nostalgia and reflection. Through layered washes of transparent watercolor, passages of opaque acrylic and gouache, and subtle marks scratched into clayboard, the paintings invite viewers into a dreamlike space where memory and reality gently overlap.
Comes in a natural wood frame ready to hang or as tabletop display. Signed in bottom corner.
