Title - John Muir Trail, circa 98'
Medium - acrylic and gouache on clayboard
Size - 11 x 14 inches
This painting depicts a view from Yosemite National Park along the John Muir Trail and draws from a film photograph my father took in 1998. Hikers can be seen as loosely etched figures - emerging softly within the surface. Revisiting these images through paint has become an act of memory mapping for me, tracing back to family vacations and moments gathered along the way. Some details remain vivid, while others fade, allowing recollection and imagination to coexist within the landscape.
Rooted in personal experience and shared memory, my work is intended to evoke quiet nostalgia and reflection. Through layered washes of transparent watercolor, passages of opaque acrylic and gouache, and subtle marks scratched into clayboard, the paintings invite viewers into a dreamlike space where memory and reality gently overlap.
Comes in a natural white washed wood frame ready to hang or as tabletop display. Signed in bottom corner.
